"Of all the military bugle calls, none is so easily recognized or more apt to evoke emotion than the call Taps. To many Americans Taps conveys an important message through its 24 notes. Sounded as the last call of the day, it also is the final musical honors at funerals accorded all those who have served our nation.
This arrangement of Taps, written originally for the US Army Band (Washington, DC) Trumpet Section in , is to be performed in a concert setting as a tribute to those who have served. The arrangement is based on the setting by Thomas Knox of the United States Marine Band who originally composed it for brass ensemble." –
