Trumpet Ensemble Warm-up

The Trumpet Ensemble Warm-up is designed to ready and kindle for the day’s work the ensemble’s awareness of sound, pitch, blend, balance, style, phrase, control of tempo, articulation and aspects of melodic interplay. Designed to be played as a piece unto itself, each segment has its own challenges upon which one can isolate, go back to and focus on if necessary.

The general feel of the piece is warm and smooth, hence the care in articulation, However, there are, beyond a few dynamic markings, intentionally very few markings for phrase or dynamics, as it will be up to the conductor to use those aspects as best benefits the ensemble in attaining an excellent musical experience.
